The twelve-tone method, which became a valid compositional technique 100 years ago, combines the achievements of contemporary musical language with the classical music tradition. In this exhibition, music manuscripts, photographs, paintings and historical documents accompany Arnold Schönberg on a voyage of discovery to “the laws of nature and the laws of our way of thinking,” and shed light on the contexts of artistic self-affirmation within a hostile environment. Musical processes are graphically presented using instructive examples and made understandable through sounds.

The event will be streamed live on facebook and YouTube and will be available seven days after the concert.
